Community Guidelines

SpotU only works if it feels safe to put your work out there. These are the house rules in plain language. The full legal version lives in our Terms of Service.

Yes, please

  • Performances you created or took part in — music, dance, acting, comedy, spoken word, anything you do.
  • Showreels, rehearsal clips, demos and works in progress.
  • Original music and audio, or covers where you have the rights or licence to share them.
  • Honest profile details: your real name or stage name, your location, your skills and experience.

Not on SpotU

  • Anything illegal, or anything that helps someone break the law.
  • Harassment, bullying, threats or pile-ons aimed at another member.
  • Hate speech targeting people for who they are.
  • Sexual content. Any sexual content involving a minor is removed instantly, the account is banned, and it is reported to the authorities.
  • Music, footage or images you do not have permission to use.
  • Spam, scams, fake profiles or pretending to be someone else.
  • Filming or recording someone who has not agreed to appear.

Reporting something

Every upload and every comment has a report option. Choose a reason, add a note if it helps, and send it — you do not need to email us as well.

Reported content is hidden from the site straight away, before anyone reviews it. That keeps things safe while we look, and it means an honest mistake can be put right.

Direct messages follow the same rules: no harassment, no spam, and no pressuring someone to move off SpotU against their wishes. Every conversation has a report and a block option. If you are talent under 18, keep a parent or guardian aware of any contact from a scout or agent.

Our team then reviews the report and either restores the content, removes it for good, or suspends or bans the account behind it. Serious cases involving children or credible threats are reported to the relevant authorities.

What “Verified scout” means

Scouts and agents can ask us to check the company or agency they work for, their role and a professional link such as a LinkedIn page. When those details check out we add a small “Verified scout” badge beside their name.

The badge is a trust signal, not a guarantee. Treat every approach — verified or not — with normal caution: never send money, never share personal documents or bank details, and keep conversations on SpotU until you are comfortable. If you are talent under 18, keep a parent or guardian aware of any contact from a scout or agent.

A scout without a badge is not necessarily a problem; plenty simply have not asked to be checked yet. If anything feels off, report the conversation and block the sender.

If something of yours is removed

Email support@spotu.co.uk and we will explain why and take another look. If the removal was a copyright claim, the counter-notice process in our terms is the route to challenge it.

Repeatedly breaking these guidelines ends in a permanent ban, so please read them once before you upload.
