Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and SpotU. By creating an account or using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use SpotU.
1. Who can use SpotU
You must be at least 13 years old to register — or older if the minimum age for online services where you live is higher. If you are under 18, you should have the permission of a parent or guardian before uploading anything about yourself.
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens on your account.
2. Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of the videos, audio, images and text you upload. By uploading, you grant SpotU a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, encode, reproduce, stream and display that content for the purpose of running the platform — including showing it to scouts, agents and other members as your settings allow.
This licence lasts while your content is on SpotU and for a short period afterwards to allow backups and caches to clear. You can remove your content at any time.
3. You are responsible for what you upload
You must own the rights to everything you share, or have permission from whoever does — including music, backing tracks, footage, images and any recording of other people. Do not upload copyrighted material you do not have permission to use.
You confirm that anyone appearing in your uploads has agreed to appear, and that uploading the content does not break any law or contract.
4. Content that is not allowed
- Illegal content, or content that encourages or facilitates illegal activity.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeting someone with abuse.
- Hate speech — attacking people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Sexually explicit content, and above all any sexual content involving minors. We have zero tolerance for this. Such content is removed, the account is permanently banned, and it is reported to the relevant authorities.
- Spam, scams, misleading impersonation, or bulk unsolicited messaging.
- Misusing direct messages. Messaging must not be used for harassment, spam, or pressuring someone to move off SpotU against their wishes. Talent under 18 should keep a parent or guardian aware of any contact from a scout or agent.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights.
Our Community Guidelines explain this in plainer language.
5. Moderation, suspension and removal
SpotU may remove or hide any content, and may suspend or permanently ban any account, at its discretion — including where we believe these terms have been broken. Content that is reported is hidden straight away while our team reviews it.
Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why action was taken and you may reply to us at support@spotu.co.uk.
6. Copyright and DMCA takedown process
If you own rights in material that has been posted on SpotU without your permission, email support@spotu.co.uk with the subject line "Copyright takedown" and include:
- Your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
- Identification of the work you say has been infringed.
- The link to the SpotU page containing the material.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We aim to review valid notices within a few working days and will remove or disable access to the material if the claim appears well founded. Repeat infringement leads to account termination.
Counter-notice. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that your use is permitted, email us with the subject line "Counter-notice" and include: your contact details, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live, and your signature. We will pass your counter-notice to the complainant and may restore the content if they do not pursue the matter.
7. The service is provided “as is”
SpotU is in an early, actively developed stage. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", with no guarantee of uptime, uninterrupted playback, or that features will keep working the same way. Please keep your own copies of anything you upload.
To the extent the law allows, SpotU is not liable for lost content, lost opportunities or other indirect losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops. The "last updated" date above will change and, for significant changes, we will make it clear on the site. Continuing to use SpotU after an update means you accept the revised terms.
